Research for the cure.

We’ve all been touched by cancer in some way, and the statistics point to the need for more cancer charities to get involved. Join us in the fight against cancer.

Help for you now.

The best way to help families with cancer is to cure it. But until a cure exists, there is the need to help financially right now.

The lift chair you purchased for our mom was an incredible blessing and something we couldn't have done on our own. Thank you, Team Julia!

BEGINNINGS
At the age of 38 and still nursing her youngest child, Julia was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer. While the news certainly came as a shock, this wife and mother of four did what those closest to her expected: she fought. Because of her faith, love for family, and a longing to help others, Julia endured multiple surgeries, MRI and CT scans, blood draws, and chemotherapy treatments in an effort to stabilize her disease and prolong her life.

To have known Julia is to know how reluctant she was to have a charity named after her. She never craved the spotlight. But Julia was determined to leverage her cancer for the good of others. A vision was born.

LAUNCH
What began as an idea officially became a 501(c)(3) public charity on a mission to eradicate breast cancer and bring financial assistance to families with cancer of any kind. Team Julia joined the ranks of cancer charities around the world determined to make a difference.

Our first research allocation went to The Center for Cancer Innovation, a promising new venture between the University of Washington and the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. Our first benevolence allocation went to a local Bellingham resident battling breast cancer. Julia’s vision had launched. These humble beginnings foreshadowed the tens of thousands of dollars to come, furthering cancer research and helping families in the fight.

JULIA
Julia’s fight with cancer ended on February 2, 2014, but her quest for a cure and desire to help others lives on. Julia battled cancer with an extraordinary tenacity and grace. In her honor, we resolved to do the same. Team Julia continued to grow and advance the mission.

TODAY

We’ve all been touched by cancer in some way, either as a patient or walking with a loved one as a caregiver. And the statistics point to the need for more cancer charities to get involved. The National Cancer Institute estimates there will be approximately 1.8 million new cancer cases this year in the United States alone. Cancer doesn’t take a year off. Neither should we.

How can you help? Be sure to follow us on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. Also, by giving generously and wearing your support, you help us advance Julia’s vision to end cancer and assist families in the battle right now.

Together we can make a difference!

Mission

Benevolence and research are at the heart of Team Julia. Team Julia’s mission is to advance research for the cure of breast cancer and offer financial assistance to families afflicted by cancer of any kind. The mission will be accomplished through the funding of a research and benevolence arm within Team Julia. This focus is motivated by a twofold conviction: (1) Team Julia believes the best way to help people afflicted with cancer is to cure it. Therefore research. (2) Team Julia believes that until a cure exists there is the ongoing need to alleviate financial suffering. Therefore benevolence.

Research for the cure. Help for you now. This is why Team Julia exists.
